I went on a hunt the other day to find some jersey knit fabric. I wanted some small cuts of jersey fabric to make some headbands for our new baby girl. This search turned out to be much more difficult than I had anticipated. I didn’t find many fabric stores dedicated to a good variety of jersey fabrics.
Many smaller shops had yardage of a few prints thrown in here and there with quilting cottons, but I wanted a large variety of jersey knit prints in small cuts.
First off, Fabric.com has a huge selection of jersey knit fabrics. BUT, I think you have to buy at least a yard or more of all of them. They don’t offer them in smaller cuts. If you need larger cuts, though, they had a large selection of jersey knit to choose form.
Where did I find the best selection of jersey knit prints?
I found an Etsy Shop called Two Dreams Fabric Shop. Besides really enjoying the selection of prints, Lindsay, the owner, also offered cuts down to a 1/4 of a yard. That was exactly what I needed.
What was the biggest disadvantage?
Shipping is free after a $35 purchase. BUT, if you don’t spend $35, shipping was pretty steep. I ended up purchasing more fabrics than I would have originally to avoid paying $20 in shipping.
All in all, I’m still VERY pleased with my purchase and selection of fabrics for our little girl.
What prints did I purchase?
All of these fabrics happen to be Art Gallery Fabrics prints.
- Pink Swifting Flora Fond (pink & blue floral)
- Reflection of Love Light (mint and peach floral)
- Solid Icy Mint
- Peachy Custard
- Sprinkled Peonies Serene (purple and mustard flowers on teal)
- Backyard Berry Cherry
- Blossom Swale Calm (petite floral on deep aqua)
I’ll show you soon how I used them!
