How many weeks until fall arrives?
I’m LOVING this weather and so thankful to have the windows wide open every day right now. During nap times last week, I sewed up a little fall inspired product line. It’s really the first time I’ve ever sewn for the seasons, and I had fun doing something different. I listed them all in my little Etsy shop. 🙂
I made plaid pillow covers in five different color ways. I’m absolutely loving the gray and white one, but if you are up for a bit more color, there’s some red, blue, and yellow available too!
These have all been sewn from a Robert Kaufman line called Mammoth Flannel. There were so many great varieties available, but I narrowed them down to a few favorites for the shop.
I’m tempted to buy a few more yards, along with some sherpa cloth, and make a warm cuddly blanket for winter.
This yellow, gray, and black one reminds me of shirts my grandpas used to wear in the winter.
All the pillow covers have been made with a zipper closure. The cover is really easy to remove and wash. All of them are also sized just a bit under 18 inches square. If you have a full and plump 18 by 18 inch pillow form, these will fit that great. Otherwise a less full 20 by 20 inch pillow form works just as well.
I’ve enjoyed working and sewing with the flannel. Changing things up a bit from the patchwork has been fun for a short time, but I think I will soon be back to piecing little bits of fabric back together.
