(These pillows have been listed in my Etsy Shop.)
In all honesty, I would not consider myself an impulse buyer. I’m not a huge shopper, and most of my purchases are quite calculated. If I go to the thrift store, I go for something specific…lest I come home with dust collectors.
I’ve used the same purse for over six years now. My husband bought it for me when our second son was born. I haven’t bought a new purse since.
About three times a year, I go to J. Crew Mercantile at our local mall. I come home with a couple hundred dollars of clothes and don’t go for another five months.

Fabric though? Buying fabric, as silly as it sounds, is my greatest temptation. I know if I browse and look at online fabric shops, I am FOR SURE going to find something I want to buy. If I shouldn’t be buying fabric, I can’t browse.
Well. I went to Hobby Lobby a while ago. On the way to the back of the store to look for some paints, I walked past their fabric section. I often buy my Pearl Thread at Hobby Lobby, but I don’t tend to buy their fabrics.
Considering I’m not overly familiar with the fabrics and creators who design for Hobby Lobby, I was a bit caught off guard at how much I enjoyed their current selection of fabrics.
Then I ran across these florals. Not only did I see the AngieMakes label (a designer I’m familiar with and enjoy), but I had a hard time leaving these florals sitting on the shelf.

I bought them. Somewhat impulsively. 🙂 I didn’t have a plan for them. Since they’re not in my typical fabric genre, I had a hard time mixing and pairing them with other fabrics.
They sat on my fabric shelf for a while all fold up neatly in a stack. I pulled them off the other day looking at them again. That’s when I decided these fabrics were perfect for leaving whole. These flowers didn’t need chopped up.

I sewed them up and put a zipper in them for ease of taking off and on. While these two fabrics don’t match, I do think they coordinate so well together. It was a joy to sew with such pretty florals!

I hope they find their way to a pretty floral bedroom or dorm room in the fall.
