These were a joy to sew. I think I’m finally at the point where sewing pillows comes with very few glitches. I’ve made enough of them now that I’m zeroing in on my best practices and processes. (It’s been six years in the making.)
Are they perfect? No, my friends, they’re not perfect. They’re made with very flawed hands.
But these have been my most peaceful batch yet. 🙂
I listed them just yesterday in my Etsy Shop.
This log cabin pillow above may be my favorite out of the four I made. I usually sew a quarter inch off each of the seams, but this time, I drew a one inch grid with my hera marker. The denser quilting is new to me, but I like how it turned out.
Two of the pillows are completely scrappy. These are my most favorite to make. They are fun. Combining fabrics is the most enjoyable part of quilting for me, and I enjoyed pairing all these fabrics together.
The pillow above has my favorite backing. That fabric is not available anymore, but I have not grown weary of those flowers. I’ve had them for a while and almost used it all up on these pillows. Does anyone else mourn the loss of an out of print fabric?
The fourth pillow below has a trip around the world pattern, but it’s hard to find because of the other fabrics. Can you follow the white squares around the pillow and see it? Next time, I’ll have to use more contrasting fabrics if I want the pattern to be visible.
My favorite, though, is seeing them all together in their cheerfulness. Textures and color are beautiful for me to see together. Eclectic and handmade decor is growing on me.
Good thing I made an entire quilt out of this combination. 🙂
