Are you a neutral loving gal? Or, do you lean toward a bit of color?
I go back and forth, but I almost always find myself drawn to a bit of color. But not too much color. And very little primary color. I want every color softened a bit. You don’t find much red, royal blue, orange, or black in my home. I like lots of calming blues and grays, a bit of yellow, a bit of green, and samples of pink scattered throughout. Oh, and you will find lots of white in my home.
Either way, this sweet combination of fabrics has been a favorite of mine for over a year now. I made a whole quilt just like these pillows. After that, the stack of these fabrics sat nicely on my craft room shelves for quite some time. Just a couple days ago, a customer contacted me via my Etsy shop and asked for a pillow with these fabrics. I had plenty left and agreed to make her a pillow.
Then I reminded myself that these are so so so many beautiful fabrics that I want to touch and feel and see. I will always find more that are my favorites. So I decided to craft a few more pillows.
The one pictured here and another one almost identical are both listed in my shop now. I’ve been experimenting a bit with my pillow cover crafting, and I decided to go the route of fully quilted plush pillow fronts. These are literally mini quits with a slot for a pillow. They feel thick and sturdy and can hand many a washings.
Feel free to click through to my tiny shop to see if anything is there that you may enjoy. π My hope is that you can add a bit of cheeriness to your home via a new pillow or an upgrade on an older throw pillow.
Also, if you are wanting to make something like this of your own, you can find a listing of all these fabrics in this post with links.
If you choose to just search on your own, here’s the names of these fabrics from memory:
Yellow floral – from Art Gallery Essentials line
Pink floral – from Maureen Cracknell’s Fleet n Flourish line
Blue gingham – painted gingham by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller
Black dots – firefly whisper by Bonnie Christine
Bees – from the Millie Fleur line by Bari J.
Hope that’s helpful!
I really love your quilt, beautiful colors and I am so happy to discover your blog.. π
This is incredibly lovely. You are extraordinarily talented. The girl’s quilt is equally adorable.
Hey Erin! Thanks so much for your encouraging comment! I love making time to put these together. Such a blessing to be able to work with my hands. π
