Gingham is making it’s way into many of my fabric purchases these days. I think the gingham paired so well with all the textures and colors in my recent triangle pillows. That combination inspired me to purchase more gingham inspired fabric.
I caught a glimpse of some of Robert Kaufman’s new Junior Mammoth Flannels on Instagram a week ago. I saw a few prints I thought would be beautiful for layering with pillows.
These three are Sea Glass, Sunrise, and Ballerina. I wanted the Summer print as well, but Fabric.com was out of stock.
(If I saw correctly, though, Morgan Kelly Quilts will be stocking the Summer print in her shop next week! Hopefully I’ll get some then.)
I’m using the blue and pink in combination with other prints for patchwork pillows. The Sunrise print I’m using for a stand alone pillow cover. I think the colors are beautiful, and my vision is to see it used as a single paneled pillow paired with other patchwork pillows.
I’m mixing the pink checks in with some other low volume prints. Hopefully a little girl will find them on her bed someday.
And the blue? I’m not ready to use it for a single panel pillow, but I will be mixing it in. It’s a great shade of blue and green that pairs well with my comfort zone of colors.
With fall here in full force, these cozy flannels seem appropriate to be cutting into this week. Check back soon for the pillows!
