Years ago I bought an old wooden cutting board from Goodwill. It had some fruit painted on it, and it was quite unattractive. I bought it knowing I would paint it and put it somewhere. My little cutting board made it through the move from the condo to the current house my husband and I own.
I eventually glued a miniature clothespin on it. Then I leaned it up against the wall in my kitchen and hung a little picture with clothespin.
My husband eventually grew weary of my painted cutting board sliding down and getting in the way. He requested my permission to hang it on the wall right where I had it leaning. I happily agreed.
Five years later it still hangs in my kitchen. My kitchen is now full of messes, food, dishes, temper tantrums, and spit up. My heart is full. Full of joy. Full of worry. These two little boys that have invaded my kitchen have brought this momma to her knees more then anything else in life.
Are there any other moms out there who grow weary thinking about the days ahead for our little ones? If you, like me, grow weary of mulling over the future, consider praying instead. I so easily forget the peace that passes all understanding when I bring my petitions before the Lord.
If you need a little reminder, feel free to print out this fall colored free printable of Philippians 4:6. You will find mine hanging on my little painted cutting board.
You can click either of the links below to download the printable. The colors are slightly different on each one.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m thankful for each of you readers!
