Just popping in here to remind you of a great free quilt block pattern by Film in the Fridge.
If you’re new to quilting, experienced, or if you’re looking to use up 2 1/2 inch wide scraps, I think this is a great block.
I’m participating in my first ever quilting bee with a great set of ladies I’ve met over Instagram in the last few years. Each month, one of the participants picks a quilt block and gives us a range of colors for inspiration. By the end of the month, we send off two or three quilt blocks to each other.
These have been my most favorite yet. The block is quick and fun to make, and I ended up loving the combination of fabrics for these two.
These two blocks were shipping off to Emily of EGM Quilted. I hope she loves them, and in the mean time, I may start a quilt of my own with all my scraps.
After a recent trip to a new local quilt shop, I purchased by first ever Carolyn Friedlander fabric. It’s the gray grid / circle fabric you see in both blocks. I was pleasantly surprised at the blending capabilities of this fabric. It’s from her CF Collection, and I like the bit of spunk they add to the blocks.
Kim from Kiwi Fabrics on Etsy is a loyal stocker of Carolyn Friedlander. If you like her aesthetic, be sure to check out Kim’s shop.
Both strawberry prints and the floral yellow fabrics are by Heather Ross. The textured lilac colored fabric is from Robert Kaufman’s Manchester line.
Like I mentioned above, find the free tutorial for this block at Film in the Fridge.
