I’ve watched her shop since before she sold fabric, but I’d never purchased anything from Morgan Kelly Quilts until last month. She used to sew quilts and sell them. In the last couple years, though, she’s morphed to selling fabric. Her shop is well curated, and I can spot a Morgan Kelly bundle from afar.
She carries gorgeous florals with plenty of fabrics to mix in between. Recently I’ve seen a lot of gingham, and I’d describe her shop as muted and calm.
(Pictured above are some of the florals I’ve also purchased from her.)
Christmas has now come and gone, but as hard as I tried, I couldn’t get through the holidays without giving at least one handmade gift. Having a reason to buy fabric and cut it right up is always a good thing for me (and hopefully for the recipient too!)
Long story short, I shopped Morgan Kelly’s shop for fabric. I was making a pillow cover for my sister, and her decor leans on the neutral, soft, and muted side. So I snagged a bundle on Black Friday.
The blue floral sold me on the bundle, but I quickly grew fond of the navy, light pink, and caramel colors as well.
Since triangle pillows have become a favorite pattern of mine, I started cutting triangles without hesitation.
The irony to the story is I never ended up gifting this pillow because I ended up shifting even more neutral. Ha!
But I love this bundle and think it’s beautiful. It takes a special knack to curate bundles of various fabrics and lines and artists, and I think Morgan Kelly does it well.
Like most of my pillows, I finished this one with a brass zipper. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I’ve been longing to try something with the new coppery brown color I see everywhere these days.
Since I have some additional fabric, I’ll likely be making a few more of these for my shop, but there is still one available for the time being. Help yourself. ๐
I love your fabric choices and now I’m hooked on all your fabric shops!
You’re so kind. I just found another shop I’m keeping my eye on! Maybe you’d enjoy it too. It’s small but nicely curated right now. ๐ It’s called With Ashley Fabric: https://tidd.ly/3xpcTbI
It’s not that we need another fabric shop, ha, but her florals are indeed pretty.
