The scrappy log cabin block has become pretty common these days in my sewing repertoire. Not only is it a great way to use up strips of scraps, but I love the freedom in color and width of the strips. While I have branched out to richer colors recently, I still often gravitate towards varying shades of pinks, blues, yellows, and whites. It’s still definitely my comfort zone of colors.
This is one I recently listed in my small Etsy Shop.
Despite the scrappyness, I do attempt to balance color through the cover.
And hand quilting? Yes, I’m still thoroughly enjoying hand quilting. I love the look and I love the texture. I also feel it’s a bit like putting your signature on your piece. No two people hand quilt exactly the same, and I enjoy the individuality it puts into a piece.
This bright and cheery pillow called for a bright white zipper. These are 16 inch zippers I simply ordered off of Amazon.
Hopefully this brings a bit of inspiration to your week! Make use of that scrap bin! (Once it’s empty, I can buy more fabric. ;))
